About us
We are a team comprised of social scientists, seismologists and disaster managers based at the Disaster Prevention Research Institute of Kyoto University.
What we do
- In 2022, we conducted a survey to assess the level of SEWI planning among the 707 city and town governments and 29 prefectural governments in the Nankai region
- We discovered that 85% of the jurisdictions that responded to the survey have plans, but there were many gaps in the plans that exist
- We are currently conducting training seminars in the region to encourage the adoption of best practices for an earthquake advisory or warning
