About us

We are a team comprised of social scientists, seismologists and disaster managers based at the Disaster Prevention Research Institute of Kyoto University.

What we do

In 2022, we conducted a survey to assess the level of SEWI planning among the 707 city and town governments and 29 prefectural governments in the Nankai region
We discovered that 85% of the jurisdictions that responded to the survey have plans, but there were many gaps in the plans that exist
We are currently conducting training seminars in the region to encourage the adoption of best practices for an earthquake advisory or warning
